Why Is the Blog Named johnrobe?

Long ago, I worked for IBM, where everyone had an eight character name for their userid. Mine was the first eight characters of John Robertson, and I felt it suited the blog very well.

Someday I’ll put more here, like a resume or something, but for now, this will do.

Hey dude, I have no idea if you are still about on this thing but I had to drop you a note as I was one of the creators of Lord Lindor. I know it was 4 years ago but I was bored and googled it at work. Glad to see he made its way on to your blog back in 2006!!

I don’t have your email address, so I’m emailing you this way…I’m sure you can delete this comment if it’s inappropriate.

Yesterday I listened to the podcast interview that you did with Karel…a good interview, though a little weird for me to listen to the two of you talking.

Today I needed to pay a bill through my PC banking account. Since I recently bought a new house, I needed to set up a new bill. I entered the account number…and got an error message that it was an invalid number. I checked the number and tried again, same error message: invalid number. So I called the helpline.

What happened was, my partner had already added the account to the list of payable bills, and I hadn’t noticed, so I couldn’t add the account b/c it was already there. But the error message I received was completely useless in solving that problem.

I thought you might want to know that…also, I still do think it would be interesting to grab lunch at some point and catch up.

    -Andy
